Aniqa Ijaz
Lecturer
Master of Philosophy in Economics
Ms. Aniqa Ijaz is currently serving as Lecturer in Economics at the University of Okara, Okara. She has been teaching there since 2019. In the Department of Economics, she is also serving as Internal Controller of Examinations and Coordinator of B.S. (Hons.) in Economics programs. Besides these, she is also performing her duties on additional charge as Director Morning (Visiting Faculty) since 2019. She has also performed her duties being a member of the Tender Committee, and Price & Quality Control Committee. She is the focal person of her department for the Ehsaas Scholarship Program. She is the secretary of the Board of Studies of Department of Economics, UO. Ms. Ijaz earned her Master of Philosophy degree from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. And Master of Science in Economics from the same department and university. She has also earned a course certificate on “The Power of Macroeconomics: Economic Principles in the Real World” by the University of California, Irvine. She attended a training program conducted by HEC concerning online education. She is a member of the Social Science & Humanities Research Association (Eurasia Research). She has also attended workshops on SPSS and qualitative research. Recently, she has explored the types of religious tourism and published it as a book chapter. She has taught various courses at the graduate and under-graduate levels like microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, Islamic economics, and statistics for economists. She has developed her areas of interest in religious tourism, efficiency measurement, consumer behavior, micro-econometrics analysis and, economic development, and growth. Her ambition is to adore the students with subject-specific skills which enable them to apply economic principles and models. She wants to give an understanding of the large driving forces shaping social policy and financial markets, as well as skills in the econometric analysis. She wants to develop valuable transferrable skills including communication, numeracy, problem-solving, time management, and analytical skills in the knowledge-intensive environment of the University of Okara.
